Welcome to the 2024 Captain of the Pershore Golf Society ....

Mark Roberts

After a fantastic 2023 season, under the pupilage of Steve High, 2024 falls to me to Captain this brilliant society. I am especially privileged to be Captain this year in what is the Societies 30th Anniversary, and just happens to coincide with my 10th year as a member….where has that decade gone!

It would be remiss of me not to thank, in advance, the Committee members, for what will undoubtedly be another superb year of golf, banter, laughs and great company with an eclectic mix of personalities, from all walks of life. The time invested by the Committee members is what gives this Society its longevity and I am sure I speak for all members when showing our appreciation to them.

Each year the Captain gets to choose a charity to support, and as has been the case in years gone by, the members have contributed with gusto to a variety of charities selected. This year I have elected to support MND and make that choice knowing that this truly awful condition has affected friends and families within the Society group. I have no doubt that the membership will, yet again, step up to the plate and provide some welcome funds to this worthwhile charity!

So with the first event of my year as Captain fast approaching, I wish you all health and happiness for the forthcoming year…..let the chaos begin. Robbo
